Our Zapier integration lets our users capture events from ~2,000 apps and turn them into Fomo notifications.

Step-by-step instructions to connect the Zapier integration can be found here. You can return back to this article after you've connected the integration.

Your Zapier integration already has a default group of variables -- variables like first_name, city, province, country, title, image_url, and email_address.

But if you want to add more variables to your Zapier integration, you can!

Step 1 - Find your Zapier template

Navigate to Notifications, scroll down to Zapier, and click 'edit.'

Step 2 - Add your custom variable to your template's notification message

In your Notification Message text area, add the variable to your Fomo notification message.

For instance, in the example below, I've added an extra custom variable called "something" in my Fomo notification message:

Pro Tip

If you want to add a custom variable to be used as an Action and don't plan to add it to your notification message, you still need to add the variable (anywhere) temporarily to your Notification Message. This is because Zapier loads all variables directly from the template's notification message.

You can remove the variable from the message after you've completed the instructions in this article.

Step 3 - Map your new custom variable(s) in your Zap

Make sure you've saved your updated notification message.

Then, navigate back to Zapier, find your Zap, and within Step 2 of your Zap (i.e. connecting Fomo), click "refresh fields".

Now, I see my variable called "something" available in my Zap for mapping:
